In the years since, she has developed and maintained working relationships with a large number of local and far-away businesses and groups.

Formally trained with a degree in graphic design and illustration, Kiera Gibbons joined B4 Studio in 2011 as a part-time collaborator. Kiera offers 19 years of experience in graphic design, project management, social media, and pre-production management. She spent six of those years working in the travel industry both domestically and abroad.

A Little History

B4 Studio, LLC was officially founded in 2007, but owner Kara Brittain has been professionally designing, filming and taking photos since 2002. As a teen, she was editor and designer of her school's newspaper and yearbook, and took on design projects as summer jobs. She was awarded a full-ride scholarship to the University of Denver, where she studied art, art history, graphic design, computer science, website design, environmental design, photography, and digital video for four years. Upon completing her Senior Thesis Project, shown in the Victoria-Myhren Gallery, Kara graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, was accepted into Phi Beta Kappa, and was voted Top Student in the University of Denver's School of Art and Art History. Kara also attended Studio Art Centers International in Florence, Italy and studied environmental and graphic design, typography and art history.

Kara studied and worked with Rafael Fajardo's company "SWEAT" in Denver, a video game collaborative dedicated to making socially conscious video games. Partly from this collaboration, P4 Games was created, allowing high school students and teachers from Denver's inner city to take summer courses in computer science, drawing, graphic design, and animation. Kara worked as both a teacher and counselor for this camp in 2006 and 2007.

In 2006, Kara began working with Amanda and Dave Basler's company, Keen Ideas and Designs. A year under their leadership allowed Kara to make the transition from digital artist to digital professional, and encouraged her to create her own company, B4 Studio, LLC. Many adventures have followed!
  - Kara discovered the Joomla! Project, and began building websites with the software in late 2007.
  - She spent 6 months in 2009 traveling with the Cowboy Heritage Project as the lead videographer.
  - In 2015, Kara was hired by the Rio Grande Emergency Action Coordination Team to develop a regional marketing plan aimed at economic recovery. The year prior,  a four-county area in Southern Colorado (including Creede) was hit with large forrest fires during the height of tourism season. For an economy based on the tourism industry, the impact of lost revenue hit the region hard. B4 Studio developed 94 page analysis and regional marketing plan for economic recovery. Kara has also been involved with several pieces of implementation of the plan.

Today, Kara works from her studio on Main Street, and often brings in other designers and developers to work on projects as needed! She always has a full schedule, so be sure to plan projects in advance!
